Donating to Habitat ReStore

Your unneeded and reusable building materials can go a long way in our community. Habitat ReStore depends on donated materials and funds to deliver the many benefits we provide to Kansas City.

Help us continue to benefit our community. By donating to Habitat ReStore, you can...
  • Free up needed space and eliminate disposal fees
  • Provide useful materials to others, so that they may improve their homes
  • Conserve landfill space, leaving more room for parks, schools, etc.
  • Receive a potential tax deduction. Check out this link to read the IRS guidelines to determining the value of donated items.

Making a Monetary Donation

Habitat ReStore accepts all monetary donations. Your dollars will be used to further our mission by allowing us unrestricted funds to offset operational costs. To find out more about how to donate to Habitat ReStore and what your money will be used for, click here.

Making a Material Donation

Habitat ReStore accepts both new and used building materials that are in good, useable condition. We offer a limited collection service in the Kansas City metro area and welcome drop-off donations at our location. Please note that our organization only serves the Kansas City, MO metro area. If you are outside the Kansas City area and want to find a ReStore near you, click here. Please be aware that all donations are subject to approval upon visual inspection by our staff.

You can donate your materials by doing any of the following:
  • Arrange for a Collection
Click here to complete a donation form or email our donations department to arrange for our collection crew to pick up your materials. Collections are generally scheduled up to two weeks in advance, but our staff will do our best to accommodate special requests. Please note that longer wait times may exist during the busy building season.
  • Walk-in
You can drop off your donation at any time during our receiving hours, Tuesday through Friday 10AM to 5PM and Saturdays 9AM to 3PM, at our location. Please remember that items are accepted only at our staff's discretion based on our need for the item(s) and condition. Please contact us in advance or check our materials we accept page if you questions about your specific items.
A receipt acknowledging your donation will be given to you at the time of the donation. Your donation may be tax deductible, depending on your individual situation.
