Parade of Playhouses

It is with heavy hearts that we must pull the plug on the 2010 Parade of Playhouses. The economy has not been conducive to acquiring sponsors, and we reached a point where we felt that if we didn't cancel the event, we would sacrifice the quality of Parade of Playhouses. We're proud of the 2009 event and want to continue building on the success of this fundraiser in future years - most likely next year if the financial climate is better.

We hope you'll join us in 2011.

In the meantime, there are still many opportunities available to get involved with Habitat for Humanity Kansas City. We hope you will check out the rest of our website or give us a call at 816-924-1096 to learn how you can be a part of eliminating substandard poverty housing in Kansas City.

Our first Parade of Playhouses was held April 25th, 2009.  20 playhouses were on display at Crown Center in downtown Kansas City, each sponsored and decorated by a different group and many of them were VERY creative. Check out the pictures in our slide show (left). There was a Lunar Lander produced by Unchained Creative, an artist's studio courtesy of American Century, and an amazing castle done by Developmental Disability Services of Jackson County - EITAS, just to name a few!
