When something has outlived its usefulness to you, there is a possibility it can move on to be useful to someone else. That one thing could be all it takes to complete a family’s home. And that’s what ReStore does. We facilitate that circle by collecting new and used building materials from many sources and making them available to anyone who needs them.
With this service, our community benefits in several ways. One, ReStore’s proceeds support Habitat for Humanity Kansas City. Two, with a little carpentry skill and creativity, everyone can have a home or business to be proud of. And, three, our services essentially ‘recycle’ materials that might have otherwise been sent to a landfill.
And it all begins with you. When you choose to donate items, shop, volunteer, or deconstruct with Kansas City ReStore, it’s the start of your involvement in the circle!
You asked ... We listened! We'll have a remote drop off site to collect donations so you don't have to drive up to the store (unless you want to shop, of course). On the second Saturday of the month, beginning June 13th, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. we'll have a truck set up in the corner of the South Kansas City Lowe's parking lot at 133rd and State Line Rd. The same donation guidelines apply, so please check our "donate" page for the specifics that we require on each type of item. You will still get a receipt for tax purposes and the same big THANK YOU from our staff. We appreciate the support we've received from so many people over the last 9 years and hope that this added location makes it easier for people to donate their quality reusable building materials.
